A clear service-scope checklist for plumbing jobs
Ambiguous scope creates callback disputes. Capture what is included, what needs restoration, and what evidence the customer will receive before the plumber rolls.
Typically included
- Locate and contain the active leak when access is available
- Fixture, supply-line, or water-heater diagnosis in the quoted window
- Shutoff confirmation and photos attached to the job
- Standard parts for the agreed repair when they are on the truck
- After-hours trip fee quoted before the tech rolls
- Written notes on inaccessible areas or follow-up work
Usually separate
- Drywall, flooring, or contents restoration after water damage
- Sewer lining, excavation, or municipal tap work
- Gas-line work outside the plumber’s license and quote
- Permit packages and inspection fees unless listed
- Mold remediation or insurance-adjuster meetings
Capture scope on the first call
Vince can collect shutoff status, leak location, fixture type, after-hours timing, and whether photos are already on the job — so the quote and the plumber start from the same checklist.
